It provides skills and tools for creating diagrams (flowcharts, ERDs, sequence diagrams, mindmaps), generating and reviewing code from visual designs, extracting content from boards, syncing task tracking tables, and converting natural language or Mermaid notation into visual board elements. Developers and teams use it to automate board creation, integrate AI workflows with collaborative design, and build custom AI features on top of the Miro platform.
Prerequisites
- A Miro account (free or paid; enterprise accounts require admin approval before connecting AI tools)
- Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, or another MCP-compatible client
- No API key setup required — authentication is handled via OAuth 2.1 in the browser when you first connect
- For the remote MCP URL method: an MCP client that supports remote HTTP MCP servers
Add Miro AI via the remote MCP URL (recommended for most clients)

Ensure you are not running two instances of the Miro MCP server simultaneously (e.g., both a plugin and a manual config). Remove any duplicate entries and use only one installation method. Then restart your AI client and try a Miro command again to re-trigger the OAuth flow.
Enterprise Miro users cannot connect and get a permissions error
Enterprise accounts require admin approval before AI integrations can be connected. Contact your Miro workspace admin to approve the Miro AI integration. This is a Miro Enterprise policy requirement.
Miro skills such as miro-browse or miro-diagram are not auto-activating
Skills auto-activate when you reference relevant Miro-related tasks. Alternatively, explicitly invoke them by mentioning the skill name (e.g., "use miro-diagram to create a flowchart"). For Claude Code plugin installations, verify the plugin installed correctly with `/plugin list`.
