Prerequisites
- A Forma account at joinforma.com with active benefits to claim
- Rust and Cargo installed (for building from source), or Homebrew on macOS for the binary install
- An MCP-compatible client such as Claude Desktop or Claude Code
- Access to your work email address for Forma magic-link authentication
Install Formanator
Install Formanator via Homebrew on macOS/Linux (recommended) or via Cargo for other platforms.

Run the login command to start the magic-link authentication flow. Formanator will prompt for your work email and send a login link.

Authentication fails or the magic link does not arrive
Check your spam folder for the Forma magic-link email. If using a corporate email with filtering, whitelist emails from Forma. You can restart the login flow at any time by running 'formanator login' again.
Command not found: formanator after Homebrew install
Run 'brew link formanator' to ensure the binary is linked to /usr/local/bin or /opt/homebrew/bin. Then verify with 'which formanator'. If Claude Desktop cannot find it, use the full binary path (from 'which formanator') as the command value in your config.
Claims fail to submit with a validation error
Ensure the claim amount and category match a benefit you are actually enrolled in. Use the list_benefits_with_categories tool first to see your available benefit types and their IDs before attempting to create a claim.
